Obituary for Andrea Coronado
On Monday, January 1, 2024, Andrea Ramirez Coronado was called Home by her Father in Heaven. She
was born February 4, 1933 in Elgin, Texas. Andrea was the daughter of David and Guadalupe Ramirez.
Andrea married the love of her life, Catarino Coronado Sr., on September 2, 1961. Together, they
embarked on life’s greatest journey of raising two children, Sharon and Catarino Jr. She had a special
place in her heart for her son-in-law William Perkins, daughter-in-law Stacia Coronado, and
grandchildren Jayden, Roger, and Sky.
Andrea was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her family’s needs first. She was a faithful
Catholic and very active in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, making sure her children received all their
sacraments. She was also actively involved in Sharon and Cat’s school activities This included serving as a
homeroom mother providing home baked goods for school parties, working the concession stand at
football games, and serving as a chaperone on various school and band trip throughout the years. While
Sharon and Cat were in high school, she made the decision to work at Gindler’s Department Store in
Smithville so she could support their extracurricular school activities.
Education was very important to Andrea. She was unable to finish high school due to responsibilities at
home. She later attended and graduated from Nixon-Clay Business College in Austin, Texas. She was
determined to complete her high school education and worked hard to obtain her GED on June 2, 1994.
Andrea is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Catarino Coronado Sr.; brothers Raymond
Ramirez, Margarito Ramirez, Natividad Ramirez, and Johnny Ramirez; and sisters Patsy Leyendecker and
Mary Cerbantez.
Andrea is survived by her daughter Sharon and husband William Perkins; son Catarino Coronado Jr. and
wife Stacia; grandchildren Jayden Henry, Roger Jorge, and Sky Andrea Coronado; brother David Ramirez
and wife Mary Helen, and a host of family and friends.
